Pharmacists

Two membership classes are available.

Participating Member: A pharmacist who is a graduate of an accredited college or school of pharmacy and licensed by WV Board of Pharmacy.

Sustaining Member: A pharmacist who is a graduate of an accredited college or school of pharmacy, licensed by WV Board of Pharmacy, and wishes to make an additional commitment to the principles and objectives of WVPA. 

The following Sections of Academy of Pharmacy Practice are available.
  • Community Practice: Owners or managers of community or other outpatient pharmacy.  
  • Employee Practice: Pharmacists practicing in community or other outpatient pharmacy.
  • Consultant Practice: Pharmacists practicing in a consultant capacity.
  • Institutional Practice: Pharmacists practicing in hospital or other inpatient facility.

Corporate Affiliate

Corporate Affiliate Membership is available to commercial entities and other for-profit entities and/or organizations that support the principles and objectives of the West Virginia Pharmacists Association, its membership and the profession of pharmacy.  This membership classification extends all rights and privileges of membership except those of voting for officers and policies adopted by this Association.

WVPA supports utilization of pharmacy technicians so pharmacists can devote more time to providing pharmaceutical care and other professional services.

You are invited to join WVPA as a Pharmacy Technician Member.  Among the benefits of membership are the availability of group medical insurance, low cost life insurance and reduced fees for continuing education programs and other WVPA-sponsored meetings.  As a member, you will be kept informed of news important to pharmacy with our newsletter Mountain State Pharmacist.  Our emails, faxes and this website will also keep you abreast of issues.

If you accept our invitation to join, please complete the Pharmacy Technician Membership Enrollment form and send it to WVPA with your dues (only $35 per year).

 Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Plans

One of the major benefits available to WVPA members is a low cost term Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance plan.  The plan has been sponsored by WVPA since 1988, and is underwritten by Medical Life Insurance Company.  Unlike some other insurance plans, there has been NO premium increase since the inception of this valuable membership benefit.
